We are delighted that Jamel, Hashim's brother, is teaching here again in 2012 – a gifted and inspiring teacher you will receive plenty of one to one tuition. He will be showing you how to create your own unique and dramatic landscape compositions, using colours you perhaps have never thought of? All in a wonderful medium that allows you to create atmosphere and mood with complete ease. You will be using the pastels over a watercolour base.

On the second day we will have a model and take a simple approach to life drawing, including colour, tone and composition, to create dynamic and expressive images.

She is an accomplished all rounder working in watercolour, water soluble pencils, acrylics, pastel, water based oils and mixed media. We have put these complimentary single days back to back to enable you to enjoy the choice of a one or two day break. Coloured pencils are a friendly, popular and easy to use medium, suitable for all abilities whilst pastel pencils offer the spontaneity and colour of pastels without all the mess! Carole will demonstrate a variety of techniques for both types through step by step exercises you will be able to gain confidence and inspiration.

In the autumn Carole will be covering acrylics which are THE most versatile painting medium, lending themselves readily to many and varied subjects so this should be an inspirational and informative two days! If you are not used to using the medium, Carole will recap on basic techniques whilst demonstrating a wide range of approaches for each particular subject.

Acrylic inks are an exciting and vibrant medium.
