Join us at St Osyth’s beautiful (warm) Church for this wonderful opportunity to beat the Winter blues. Chris Rowbury is a patient, charismatic teacher with 30 years' experience. He has a relaxed style laced with plenty of humour. He will get you singing in wonderful harmony in a matter of minutes! He runs singing workshops across the UK and teaches songs in harmony from a wide range of singing traditions. Everything is voice only without instruments or backing tracks. You need no singing experience as Chris teaches all songs by ear (he sings and you repeat). You'll be amazed at the beautiful sound that a group can make regardless of singing background. Whether you've only ever sung in the shower, or you're already in a choir. And all in a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere—book early with Allison to avoid disappointment!

In this exciting, informative workshop, Stephie will show you how to paint wildlife in watercolour, full of colour, with an impressionistic feel, making your work unique. You will focus on the face of the animal and how to portray feelings and emotions in your subject. There will be a mixture of ongoing demonstrating and one-to-one attention, thereby enabling everyone to work to the best of their own ability making this workshop suitable for all, even beginners.

You will be encouraged to develop your own style, to learn how to paint with Instinct alongside technique, to simplify drawings prior to painting to enable a looser style, to paint with colour that deviates away from the norm. Most of all, you'll have fun and come away inspired to paint more!

Oil painting workshops allow time to cover in greater depth the process of painting. They can be tailored to the groups requirements but often start with a brief introduction of the medium along with materials and equipment together with some background on how Graham approaches both small plein air sketches and larger studio work. Usually he will go through his approach to building a painting before starting on the main painting. Generally the painting process can be broken up into four main stages. Each stage is taken in turn with a demonstration and explanation followed by the group applying what they have seen to their own work. There is plenty of scope for individuality and attendees are encouraged to apply their own style to their work.

On this wonderfully exciting day withe Melanie she will begin with answering the questions: what is silver clay, where does it come from and how does it work? She will then demonstrate and explain the main techniques you will be working with and there will be plenty of time to experiment and be creative. She will also cover how easy it is to fire the clay at home.

Each student will design and create two or three pieces of finished jewellery which will be ready to wear by the end of the day.

Melanie will bring with me all tools, equipment, materials, work mats and information sheets. A wonderful opportunity to learn and develop a new skill - check out her book on the subject!

Melanie has been teaching silver clay workshops since 2004. She is a qualified Art Clay Instructor and a certified trainer for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, so you can relax and know that she will do her utmost to ensure that the time you spend with her is a positive and enjoyable learning experience.
