Watershed Studio
These are our remaining courses on our Programme for 2023 - there are still some art and craft workshops to choose from still although many are now fully booked I'm afraid. We are currently working on our 2024 programme and hope to have this on the website very soon. Early booking is always advisable even though it does seem a long way off.

There is no printed brochure so it's all here. Just scroll down, past the gift vouchers, to find out who is coming and when!! Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you want any more information.

Learn the key skills to painting coastal atmospheric light and drama with award-winning painter and tutor, Jenny Aitken.

This two-day course will begin each day with a full demonstration in oils. We will focus on colour mixing, brushwork, texture and the variation of tone to achieve a sense of light, movement, depth and atmosphere in both sparkling and stormy coastal scenes.
Jenny will give individual teaching and advice to students throughout. There will be notes provided, and a variety of photographs to work from. You are also more than welcome to bring your own photos, if you would prefer.

Jenny Aitken lives in Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District. She has strong connections to Cornwall and the Channel Islands, and an enduring love for the sea. Since graduation in Art & Art History from Aberystwyth in 1998, she has exhibited all over the UK and beyond and won many awards. She is now an associate member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists. A regular contributor to The Artist Magazine, teaching and writing about painting is an absolute passion for Jenny. Her main aim is for students to be encouraged, informed and creatively enthused.

Join us for a fun workshop making your own unique festive door wreath. Allison will take you through the process of mossing and wiring up your base before you help yourselves to the abundance of foliage available and start creating your masterpiece. Allison will lead by demonstration and you will get plenty of one to one help. You will also be guided and given practical advice on how to add decorations and personalise your wreath.

All foliage will be provided, as well as wires and frames, plus inspiration and a very friendly atmosphere.

Please bring seccateurs and/or any other Christmassy bits like baubles, berries, fat ribbon and glitzy bits to personalise your creation. Some people like to add battery lights and bows too!

You will be using wires, moss and lots of natural greenery so please do dress accordingly.

These are fun sessions and suitable for everyone including complete novices.
